City Plays Ball With the Grizzlies
It could cost Fresno taxpayers nearly a million dollars but city leaders say the Grizzlies are an investment in the community. Thursday night, the Fresno City Council voted to approve a new lease agreement for the team. The new agreement will require the city to chip in about $600,000 for maintenance. It will also essentially give the team a half million dollar long term loan to buy a new scoreboard. In return, the city will get to share in the team's profits and hopefully reap the rewards.
